Welcome to 50PlusAuPair. By creating an account or using our Platform, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Platform.

2. What We Do
50PlusAuPair is an online platform that allows experienced adults aged 50+ and host families to find one another and communicate directly. Our goal is to promote meaningful cultural exchange through shared family life and mutually agreed support. We provide the platform only. We do not employ Au Pairs or Host Families, recruit employees, provide staffing services, act as an employment agency or guarantee placements. Every arrangement is made directly between the Host Family and the Au Pair.
3. Cultural Exchange
Participants become part of everyday family life and contribute through mutually agreed support. Support may include childcare support, companionship, sharing life experience, language or cultural exchange, light household assistance, meal preparation and other everyday family activities. Every arrangement is unique and agreed entirely between the participants.
4. No Employment Relationship
Using 50PlusAuPair does not create an employment relationship. We do not determine duties, schedules, hours, compensation or responsibilities. These are decided by the participants. Whether an arrangement is employment depends on the applicable laws and actual circumstances.
5. Registration
Users must be at least 18 years old. Au Pairs must be at least 50 years old. Users must provide accurate information, keep profiles updated and protect their login credentials.
6. Your Responsibilities
Provide truthful information, communicate respectfully, comply with applicable laws and use the Platform only for its intended purpose. Accounts violating these Terms may be removed.
7. Immigration, Visas & Legal Compliance
Users are solely responsible for complying with immigration, visa, employment, tax, insurance and other legal requirements. 50PlusAuPair does not provide legal or immigration advice.
8. Safety
We cannot guarantee the identity or suitability of users. Users should verify identities, request references and conduct appropriate background checks before entering into any arrangement.
9. Membership & Fees
Membership fees, if any, are displayed on the Platform. Unless stated otherwise, fees are non-refundable.
10. User Content
Users retain ownership of uploaded content but grant 50PlusAuPair permission to display and use it for operating and promoting the Platform.
11. Liability
50PlusAuPair provides an online platform only and is not responsible for arrangements, disputes, losses, injuries, visa refusals, immigration decisions or user behaviour. Liability is limited to the amount paid to us during the previous 12 months where permitted by law.
12. Suspension or Termination
Users may close their account at any time. We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these Terms or use the Platform inconsistently with its purpose.
13. Privacy
Personal information is processed according to our Privacy Policy.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use means acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the applicable federal laws of Canada.
